Kantar Insights, a leader in marketing data analysis, has recently released the 2024 edition of Kantar BrandZ. This ranking identifies the 100 most powerful companies globally by combining their market value and consumer perception. Unsurprisingly, tech giants continue to dominate this year's list.
‍
For the third year in a row, Apple remains the most powerful brand globally, with a 15% increase in its value, now at $1,015.9 billion. “Apple has become the first brand in history to surpass $1 trillion in valuation, setting a new record,” states Kantar Insights. The Cupertino-based company, which recently unveiled its latest innovations at WWDC, leads ahead of Google ($753.4 billion), Microsoft ($712.8 billion), Amazon ($576.6 billion), and McDonald’s ($221.9 billion).
Moreover, three companies have entered or re-entered the top 10 of the Kantar BrandZ ranking: Facebook (8th) and Oracle (9th), both rising four positions, and especially NVIDIA. Ranked sixth, the American graphics processor company has increased its brand value by 178%. Fueled by the rise of artificial intelligence, NVIDIA has experienced the highest growth in 2024. “For the first time, the combined value of the brands in the top 10 equals that of the next 90 ranked brands combined,” adds the data and research institute.

Nine companies have entered or re-entered the top 100, including Dell Technologies (81st), ALDI (91st), Pinduoduo (94th), HSBC (98th), and notably ADP, which made a spectacular rise to 44th place. Overall, the value of the companies in the top 100 increased by 20% over the period. According to Kantar Insights, this marks “a strong recovery following the stock market downturn” in 2023.
‍
“Overall, the 2024 ranking has been marked by a strong rebound in technology, media, and entertainment brands,” explains Kantar Insights. Among the significant gainers are NVIDIA (+178%) and AMD, benefiting from the surge in GPU demand. Following these manufacturers, other tech brands betting on artificial intelligence also showed significant growth, such as Facebook (+79%), Adobe (+66%), and Microsoft (+42%). Additionally, Uber (+71%) and Netflix (+51%), which has redefined its economic model by introducing ad-supported plans and cracking down on password sharing, are notable.

It is noteworthy that last year, there were no tech brands among the top 20 fastest-growing brands, recalls Kantar Insights.
